Most patients desire treatments that are non-invasive and do not create downtime since most individuals cannot afford to take time off work or forego family obligations. The Contour Light is completely safe and will not cause a patient to alter their daily plans in order to recover from a treatment. The light delivered during a session with the Contour Light is sufficient to generate the intended response, yet at a low enough level that it will not cause any irritation.
The amount of light generated by the Contour Light pads is equal to or greater than any other similar device in this category, yet the overall absorption will be much more significant due to the reflective coating on the Contour Light system. In a published article titled: A Study on Skin Optics, Aravind Krishnaswamy and Gladimir V. G. Baranoski, Natural Phenomena Simulation Group, School of Computer Science, University of Waterloo, Canada, Technical Report CS-2004-01, January, 2004, proves that mid-600nm light is reflected by the dermis and subcutaneous tissue at a much higher rate than other wavelengths. This study indicates that the amount of the light being retained by a patient with the use of any device without the reflective coating will be substantially less than the light emitted by the Contour Light system.
